The wind ties knots through my hair with greedy fingers.
It screams outside my headphones, threatening to come in.
The wooden railing is my seat, i rest my elbows on the glass shield meant to block the wind.
I've never felt so alone, but in the good way.
Black waves part to each side as the bough of the boat pushes through. The night was possibly crystal clear, but i'll never know- the sky was all shadows.
Behind me though, the moon left it's mark on the sea. The white and glimmering reflection left the water a little less ominous.
Tears slipped out the corners of my eyes.
Life was so real right then, and the wind was so relentless.
There was a whole other life just below me.
Sea creatures silently swam, not bothering.
I kept watching, waiting for some sign of life to appear through the rolling black sheets of wave.
Nothing, and with good reason,
as they were all probably just asleep.
